We have been receiving a lot of questions about the Mojo Retreat so we decided to answer them all in one place. If you have a question, and I haven’t answered it here, feel free to email us at info@howmuchmojo.com or post it in the comment section of this post.
1. Do I have to be at a certain place in my business in order to come to this retreat?
No. There is no such thing as not being far enough along or further along than everyone else. This is a retreat designed to help you no matter where you are on your journey. Your most pressing issue may be how to attract more of the right clients to your practice, how to design a more free lifestyle, how to live healthier and more fit or it may be how to improve your relationships. And, you may come to the retreat thinking one thing is your priority and then discover you really came for something else. That’s the beauty of it.
2. It sounds like there are several physical components to this retreat. Am I required to do them all? What if I have a physical limitation?
You are not required to do anything though you will be invited to join us for everything. We will be practicing yoga, going hiking and doing many things that require some physical effort. These are opportunities but not mandatory. For example, during our last retreat, several of the women chose not to join us for the hike or the yoga. They did not feel left out and they did not feel pressured in any way to do what they didn’t want to do. (In fact, one of those women who did not join us for those pieces in the first live Mojo Retreat signed up for this upcoming retreat the day we announced it so that was clearly not an issue for her.) There is certainly an aspect of challenge in this retreat, pushing yourself beyond your comfort zone, but you are the expert in your own life and we are more concerned about making this retreat a wonderful and transformational experience for you than we are about guilting you into going on some hike when you don’t want to or can’t for whatever reason.
3. What is the schedule going to be every day?
While nothing is carved in stone yet, plan on arriving Wednesday February 3, 2010 by 3pm. We’ll be having a welcome reception, cocktail party and dinner to kick off the weekend. Then we will be playing together on Thursday, Friday and Saturday all day from breakfast to bedtime. On Sunday the 7th we’ll finish by about 11am.
4. Will there be time to just hang out and relax with all of the women there?
Yes. This was one of the reasons we wanted to take over the entire Inn. During the last retreat the women had so much fun together that they told us they wanted more time to just hang out together; so, we’ve built in a lot of hang time and we think we’ve created a great balance between scheduled time and free time.
5. Will you and Melani actually be staying at the Inn with us?
Oh yes! This is not one of those weekends where we’ll be whisked in and out for the sessions. We will be enjoying everything right along with you. In fact , one of the things that many of the women from our last retreat commented on was how accessible we were to them the entire weekend. That’s part of the fun as far as we’re concerned and when you spend so much time digging into issues that are near and dear and very personal to all of you, we think it's important to be there to debrief or talk or even just laugh with you if you need more immediate support.
6. It says all inclusive. Is there anything that is NOT included besides air fare?
The only things that are not included are dinner one evening and lunch one day. We wanted to give you a couple of opportunities to just do your own thing and if you decide you want to go out with a few of the women there you could do that, if you just want to take refuge in your beautiful room with a big flatscreen tv for the night you could do that do, or if you just wanted to go and explore Boulder on your own we wanted to make that possible too. The Inn is right downtown so you can walk to any eatery, shop or store you needed.
The other thing not included is transportation to and from the Inn. However the public transportation in Boulder is one of the best, easiest and cleanist in the country so you don’t even need to rent a car if you don’t want one. Everywhere we’ll be going is within walking distance. If you register, you’ll get more information on that.
Other than that you will get meals, a spa treatment, and everything else on us!
7. Can you talk specifically about some of the topics and activities we’ll be doing during the retreat?
We will be addressing many topics over the course of 4 days but a few of the ones we will cover in depth are money, numerology, creativity and lifestyle design. During our last retreat we had several requests to do an entire weekend on numerology and although we aren’t going to do that we will be going deeper into this practice this time around. Melani will not only be doing your personal numerology blueprint for you but will be teaching you more about this art and science and how to use it effectively in your own life when it comes to your health, work and relationships and how to use it with your clients also if you so choose. I feel like it is important to mention that if you are not familiar with numerology this is not the "woo woo" portion of the event. (Nobody has ever accused Melani or me of being woo woo either:) This is information designed to give you another way to look at things and to add another layer of understanding. Many women at the last retreat who came knowing nothing and thinking it wasn’t going to be a big deal and left saying it was one of the BEST things of the weekend.
When it comes to money this is not going to be your average “let’s run the numbers” and see how much you could make next year. It’s about getting friendly with your money, and all of your numbers, and helping you make the kinds of decisions that will support the goals you have and the lifestyle you want.
8. What is the weather typically like in Boulder in February?
Well, if you know anything about Colorado you know there is NO such thing as typical. We could have 70 degree days or we could have snow. And, we could have both in the span of 48 hours. The sun is almost always out here so even when it does snow, it melts fast. I can’t promise weather – weathermen in Boulder can’t even promise you weather on a daily basis – but I can promise that Boulder is literally a playground so snow or 70 degrees there is a ton to do and enjoy. 9. What kind of clothes do I need to bring?
During the day you can do whatever you want. If you want to wear your coolest outfits, go for it. You want to hang out in sweats and slippers, you can do that too. We’ll be going out a couple of nights but not too many dress codes in Boulder. Jeans and running clothes sit side by side little black dresses and Jimmy Choos. Wear what you like. We’ll be hiking and practicing yoga too so athletic clothes are important. Whatever you do, I would check the weather the day before you leave because things change fast around here!
10. How many women will be there? Will you change that if more people want to sign up?
We have space for 13 women. We don’t plan on changing that because there are only a limited number of rooms at the Inn. However, if a couple of friends decide they want to come together and share a bed, we might add that way. There is only one spot left in the double rooms (rooms with 2 beds) so if you want that, I encourage you to take advantage of that now.
11. Is there a deadline?
The only deadline is once the rooms are gone, they’re gone. Also, you’ll save a good deal of money if you register by October 31 because the price will go up after that.
12. I really want to do it but can’t make it work with my schedule. Will you be doing this again?
Yes. Though we don’t know for sure when or how we’ll do it. This is evolving at a rapid pace and we are leaving ourselves open to a lot of possibilities. If this sounds like a fit for you, we’d love to meet you in February!
13. Where can I learn more about you and Melani?
